Book Review

Esther is a new author to me and I can’t exactly remember how I happened upon this book but dang, I’m hooked!

Zack was raised in the MC lifestyle so it was only natural that when the time came, he stepped up to be Prez. He’s young, dedicated, hard working and understands what it takes to be strong. He doesn’t have a lot of weakness’ that others can see. He’s determined with the help of his brothers to keep improving the MC and their reputation,no matter what. There’s just one problem, a blast from his past crosses his path out of nowhere. Now he has to figure out what to do and if which part of his body will control his decisions?

Belle’s was raised to fight. Not just professionally, but figuratively as well. She’s faced an uphill battle being a woman in a male dominated industry. With an unexpected change surfacing she was taken away from the life and love she’d always cherished to go around the world to continue the fight. She’s never understood why, but accepted it. When tragedy strikes, she goes back to the place she left her heart, and secrets. How does she move on from there?

When Belle and Zack reunite, their chemistry is just as intense and explosive as before! They’re trying to figure out how the hell they belong in each others lives again. Each of them holding back on secrets to protect each other. An enemy sets their sights not just on Belle, but the MC and those connected. The reality of how close they are to shattering their fragile connection becomes clear, everything is out in the open. The raw, traitorous, infuriating emotions spill along with the blood of those caught in the middle. Can they fix it this time?

Creative adoration (positives): There is literally so freaking much I LOVE about this book. Zack and Belle are both such strong, complex characters. I can admit it, at first their attraction made me roll my eyes because of it’s intensity, but that changed a few chapters in. Because of the layers Esther adds to them, it started to make sense. As she reveals minor details about their pasts or personalities, it starts to click like a well thought out puzzle. They are extremely strong, but so fragile at the same time, and it works! I loved that Zack wasn’t always the hard ass, he wasn’t a total caveman jerky dummy like he could have been. She shows a side of him that is very raw and it adds so much to his dedication to those he loves.

Creative indifference (negatives): I’m still very curious about Zack and Lynn’s parents and I’d love to know more about their past.

Creative appraisal (overall): I have to say, for this being a first book for me from this author, it’s very strong! It grabbed my attention, and held on. I Love a good MC, suspense, steamy, romance, with strong characters. The best part of it for me? The humor! I ADORE the fact that Esther does not hold back what so ever with the humor. It’s not something I feel that can be easily slipped into a dialogue for this kind of genre. It wasn’t choppy or thrown in, it flowed perfect. I still giggle after reading each one and just think about the stuff Belle says. Can you say no filter? :) Excellent book, I’m so glad I snagged this one up!
