If at any time an author can bring out emotions in a reader, they are a success. If they can draw in a reader to feel engaged in the journey of their new book friends, they earn more respect. If an author can leave a reader feeling intrigued, inspired, and even offer healing, they’ve gained a bibliophile fanatic for life. - Shani K. - The Chronicles of an Abibliophobiac.

Review: A Beautiful Acceptance (NYC Series #2) By Alora Kate

I’ve been a huge fan of Alora’s for some time now, and with every book she puts out she gets better and better! I love the fact that she just doesn’t stay with a genre that is in her comfort zone. Instead, she reaches out to twist things a little bit. For example her books, The Price We Pay, A Flaw So Beautiful and Crash.Burn.Sting. Which are all fantastic books and I encourage you to check them out!

I was super excited to see that she was returning to a series!!!! I love this as I love to know more about her characters and how they continue on. A Beautiful Acceptance is the 2nd book in her new NYC series. I loved Prescott and Ki’s story in the first book (A Beautiful Heartache), and it was awesome to see them included in Alexa and Tappers story now. So let me tell ya’ll about my favorite book in this series so far!

Alexa is strong, dependable, brave, loyal and loving. But when you throw in the anger, sadness, trauma, disappointments through the years and being let down, she is wound up in an emotional tornado that threatens to lose control when a series of events happen consecutively. For her, the only family she has is Ki, her business partner and best friend. In her battle to keep things less chaotic for all of them Alexa is faced with a blast from the past. A man she once dated has shown up in a place she never expected. It’s her goal to make him see that she truly is sorry for the way things ended and it's not pity she’s sharing. But he won’t give her the time of day. She loses the win in her sails so to speak and starts changing on the inside and outside. She’s dealt with one more blow. The loss effects her more than she expected. How can she get a grasp on her life again?

Tapper is tired. He’s tired of feeling like a failure and a disgrace. Once upon a time he had a prized career in the ring, and the woman he grew to seriously love by his side. But that changed when she got scared and ran. On the brink of heartache he’s involved in a tragic moment that has left him even more beaten and broken than he was. He has been battling everyone and everything for months. He’s determined to get back to where he was, even if that means pushing everyone away from him faster. His focus has to be on getting better. If he doesn’t, what good is he to anyone? Let alone himself? The faster he pushes them away, the faster he can not rely on anyone. Or so he thinks! When Alexa steps into his life again, he can’t ignore her. No matter how hard he tries or how hard he pushes. She’s insistent and will do whatever it takes to have him hear her out. The question is, will he give in let her back in?

Their story is full of angst, love, frustration, heartache, lust, honesty and above all else, a second chance at a better life. They have to struggle through a lot and both have to let down their defenses. If they don’t, they ruin their chances at finding a beautiful acceptance of their lives as they are.

LOVED this book! Alora remains one of my favorite authors of all time. Each book she puts out, she brings even more heart and depth to her characters. She will grab you, make you cry, laugh and follow the emotional roller coaster with these phenomenal cast of each love story. I cried as always, I admit it! But I was filled with such joy and peace. In reality, you only truly accept the life you live in when you can make peace with so much. I’m learning that as I get older and it's exceptional to have someone else share that in this way. As always Alora, BRAVO!
