If at any time an author can bring out emotions in a reader, they are a success. If they can draw in a reader to feel engaged in the journey of their new book friends, they earn more respect. If an author can leave a reader feeling intrigued, inspired, and even offer healing, they’ve gained a bibliophile fanatic for life. - Shani K. - The Chronicles of an Abibliophobiac.

Review: "Hunt Me Down (Fight Me #1.5)" by A.L. Jackson

Note: This is a standalone novella that can be read anytime.

I wasn’t sure if I would really be too interested in this book because it does have the fairytale story vibe. The reason I say this is because I’ve read so many them and more often than not I was let down by them. However, that wasn’t the case with this book.

Brody Wolfe has a darkness in him that was passed down by his immoral father. A man who will always get what he wants, even if it means doing things illegal. But for Brody, he wants to be a different man. He wants to still win at the acquisitions game, but do it in what he believes is the right way. He is still very much a man who loves the thrill of the chase. He has yet to meet the woman that can settle his soul and bring him peace.

Lily Redd will do anything she can to protect the ones she cares for the most. She was left without a family to speak of and forced to do things on her own. Because of that she’s become a fierce fighter who champions for the underdog. This is what she does for her beloved friend who saved her from a lesser life. In her quest to improve her life (and the ones she loves) she hasn’t found a man who will accept her fire and bring her security.

After weeks of back and forth email correspondence, Wolfe and Redd anticipate that when they meet one of them will back down. What they don’t anticipate is the intensity that threatens to take them both apart. It’s a battle of wills, defiant attitudes, strength, and pure sexuality. In the end who really wins?

This was a quick, HOTTTTTT, sexy read! I love the bits of wit and humor the author adds that tie in the classic tale that it loosely includes. If you’re looking for something hot, spicy, intriguing and fun, this is the book to get! I look forward to reading more from this author.
