If at any time an author can bring out emotions in a reader, they are a success. If they can draw in a reader to feel engaged in the journey of their new book friends, they earn more respect. If an author can leave a reader feeling intrigued, inspired, and even offer healing, they’ve gained a bibliophile fanatic for life. - Shani K. - The Chronicles of an Abibliophobiac.

Review: "Vair: Beyond the X-club" By Hettie Ivers

Let’s start this review with a confession or 4….
  • I’ve read very few alien books in my lifetime.
  • Never have I wanted to go to a sex club.
  • Now I’ve read one and I wouldn’t mind meeting Vair and have a rendezvous with Tauce or Zyrnase at the X Club.
  • Oh and I wouldn’t mind a few of the magical “fixes” to improve my eyesight and heal a few things.

Krinar authorities aren’t too happy with Amy right about now. She’s diving into her career with both feet pulled up and cannon balls straight into the mix of what truly happens between consenting aliens and their human counterparts. As a journalist she feels it's just right to share with the public what has been happening since the K’s have taken over the world. If you add into the mix how petrified her Mom is of anything remotely conspiracy like, it's just the push she needs. She knew walking into the club that night was going to change her forever. What she didn’t expect was for it to change her existence not just her career. What she hadn’t expected even more was to come in contact with Vair. A Krinar with a hidden agenda and now an addiction to Amy. An addiction he wishes to continue….and soon!

Vair decides the best way to grab her attention is to blackmail her into coming back to his club. After all, what are the chances she’ll show up there willingly? Even he knows how unlikely that is an sets his plan into place. Show her exactly why they work together, check. Make sure that she sees the footage of their coming together in a place she can’t hide from it, check. Invite her right back to where she needs to be, working on it! With her best friends help, Vair draws her into his existence. They both have an agenda that needs to be seen through totally. But who’s going to get the truth first? Who’s going to let go and accept the inevitable? Will they both win or lose? For Vair it means gaining something he’s searched for hundreds of years for, that key to happiness. For her it means uncovering the lies to find the hidden nuggets of truth.

I LOVED all the ways that Hettie has brought the Krinar to live in this book! I was completely fascinated by the abilities of the K’s, the changes they make to human existence in general and oh of course the crazy, hotter than a june bug in July moments!!! Her bits of humor mixed in with lifestyles, sass, intrigue, drama, suspense and overall creativity again prove why she’s good at what she does. She can change your expectations and make you a fan of an alien species you wouldn’t mind getting up close and personal with! Hettie, well done my friend!!!!! If the Krinar ever do join us on this planet, give directions if you will to Tauce and Zyrnase to my house would ya?? Tell them to bring Nurse Shalee to help with giving me better eyesight! ;)

Keep an open in mind when you read this ya’ll, you’ll need it and then be scrambling to one-click the rest in Anna Zaires world series!
